At 25, She Decides To Proudly Show Off Her Gray Hair After Years Of Coloring

While our society tend to exploit people’s insecurities, the buoyancy and self-love of people are ever-proliferating. The phenomenon of gray hair is entirely natural, but hundreds of women choose to either hide it or dye it in fear of stigmatization and ridicule instead of embracing it. Sophie McGrath, who had been dyeing her silver gray hair till 25, finally decides to show it off and now she’s feeling so much sure of herself like never before.

Sophie McGrath had her first silver strand when she was only 13 years old and she has been dyeing it ever since for almost 10 years. It was at the age of 25 that she realized that her hair had turned completely gray with no traces of brown. The transformation from dark brown to gray didn’t take that long. That’s when she decided it’s time to finally accept herself who she really is.

Given up coloring and hiding, this New Zealander now confidently shares posts of her silvery hair. Even on the occasion of her wedding, she held herself proudly as the wind ran through her silvery hair.

“I started to color my hair around the age of 15. My two parents already had a lot around the age of 40, but not as much as me,” Sophie recalled.

“I felt I had to hide something natural and thought about it constantly, my hair to be colored was causing me more stress than the gray hair itself.”

“I never felt so sure as I do now, I show off my gray hair with pride.”

She is truly an inspiration for a lot of people out there who are afraid to accept themselves for who they are. Accept yourself and be so confident and those around you will naturally accept you as well.
