Couple Adopts 4 Siblings So As Not To Separate Them: Now They’re A Happy Family

Being a parent is a whole attitude comprised of love, mercy, and patience. It is far beyond a biological relationship. That is why an adopted parent is no different from a biological parent. This American couple took the responsibility of loving and protecting not just one child, but four young brothers who lived in the same orphanage.

Brandon and Jennifer Pratt have always wanted to adopt more than one child, but they had no idea that their family of two people would become six overnight. The Pratts had a special connection to Brazil, and when they first saw these four brothers at the Christian orphanage in Recife-Pernambuco, a coastal city located on the far eastern shoulder of South America, they immediately knew they were the ones. There was no hesitation whatsoever.

“At first glance, Jennifer and I both teared up. We immediately knew without a shadow of a doubt that these were our boys,” Brandon revealed.

Adopting only one or two of the brothers would be straight off dividing the family, so they went with what’s best for the children. Deciding that growing up together would bring about an easier and much happier life for all of them, Brandon and Jennifer soon started the paperwork.

“We decided to adopt them. all four to prevent them from growing up apart. They are calm children and they adapted easily!”

After almost two and a half years, the paperwork was completed, and Jennifer and Brandon officially welcomed Leandro, Cristiano, Enzo, and William into the family. The children indeed had great challenges in adapting at first, especially language barriers, but they were and continue to be fast learners.

“After six months here, they dropped Portuguese almost entirely and just spoke English,” recalled Jeniffer. “It happened very fast. Now, if I speak a phrase in Portuguese — I learned a little — they will reply in English.”

The children’s past was a difficult one. They were taken away from their mother who lost their custody due to negligence.

“It wasn’t easy in the beginning, but every day is easier than the last, and every tough moment, every tough situation in this journey has been worth it.”

“Our family is what a family should be — full of joy and love. I couldn’t imagine our perfectly imperfect family story any other way,” Brandon added.
